Well, here we are. The most crucial part of my education. To be an intern isn’t easy, I can tell you that without hesitation. There were kids everywhere. It’s easy to understand why there’s a teachers lounge. Let’s make some rules for Norwegian teacher interns:
Nr.1: The moment you step into a school as an adult, teacher or not, you become a role model. Behave like one.
Nr.2: You should speak directly to the kids, they usually don’t understand irony all that often.
Nr.3: Don’t hesitate to ask for help, that’s why you’ve got the intern teacher.
Nr.4: Remember: you’re not alone.
Nr.5: Don’t talk down to any student, they don’t like it, and it might create a “domino” effect.
Nr.6: Don’t try to eat gum or any other form for “candy” around the kids.
Nr.7: Try to think about your oral hygiene, coffee might not fall in the favored smell for a 12 year old.
Nr.8: The 7 P’s : Proper planning and preparation prevent piss-poor performance.
Nr.9: They are here to learn, not to play.
Nr.10: Always be able to explain why you did as you did.
That’s all for now, I’m not able to write much more right now, but hey, it’s my birthday!
But by god, I hate mondays…
I want a milkshake.
